Hace unos sábados decidimos con Andres que era hora de invitar a los varones a comer a casa. Las mujeres de la iglesia o la universidad suelen tener gestos para las chicas, pero los varones están un poco más descuidados. Así que compramos papas fritas, jugo, hice un montón de fideos y una torta de manzanas, y pasamos un lindo rato.

Some Sabbaths ago we decided with Andres that it was time to invite the dorm boys to eat at home. The women from church or from the university usually have some nice gestures towards the girls, but the boys are more neglected. So we bought potato chips, juice, and I made a looot of pasta and an apple pie, and we had a nice time together.

¡Fuego! - Fire!

Hace como tres semanas estabamos en casa, relajándonos, cuando vimos que en la ladera in frente de nuestra colina había un incendio. Se apagó casi solo, y la autobomba llegó para el final, pero estuvo interesante. Acá en todo el verano no llueve. Nunca. Ni una gota. Así que todo está seco. Además, los libaneses aman los fuegos artificiales, así que el resultado es evidente..
Igualmente, esto está atrasado, ayer a la tardecita tuvimos un incendio en la universidad. Nada grave, solo se quemaron unos árboles y arbustos, pero fue dificil apagarlo. Vinieron dos autobombas y estuvieron como 2 horas hasta que todo se apagó.. La vida en MEU...

About three weeks ago we were home, relaxing, when we saw that in the hill in front of ours there was a fire. It was extinguished almost by itself, and the firefighter truck arrived for the end, but it was interesting. Here during summer it doesn´t rain. Ever. Not a drop. So everything is very dry. Besides, lebanese people love fireworks, so you can imagine the results...
Anyway, this is actually not updated. Yesterday in the evening we had a fire at the university. Nothing too bad, just some trees and bushes.. but it was difficult to extinguish. Two firefighter trucks came and stayed around 2 hours until everything was well... Life at MEU...

Graduación - Graduation

El último fin de semana de Julio tuvimos la graduación en MEU. Fue un domingo de tardecita, con un clima muy agradable, y muchas sonrisas. La costumbre acá es que todos los profesores usan togas y pasan como los graduados.. En fin, verán a Naty "disfrazada".

The last weekend of July we had MEU´s graduation. It was a Sunday in the evening, with a beautiful weather and a lot of smiles. The tradition here is that all the teachers use graduation gowns and march as the graduates. Anyway, we can enjoy some pictures of Naty "in custome".
