Haciendo dulce de leche - Making "dulce de leche"

Todos ustedes saben que estando tan lejos de Argentina, se extrañan muchas cosas. Una de las que más pegan es la comida, especialmente la comida bien argentina. Nosotros extrañamos el dulce de leche. Por supuesto que acá no se consigue ni siquiera pagando un dineral, así que Andrés buscó una receta, y después de mirar un video explicativo, decidimos probar. Después de revolver y revolver por 2:15 horas, un rato Naty, un rato Andres, logramos hacer dulce de leche. Les mostramos el proceso, ¡¡y no les convidamos nada!!

You all know that being so far from Argentina, we miss a lot of things. One of them is food, especially Argentinian typical food. We miss "dulce de leche". Of course, we cannot get that here, not even paying a lot of money, so Andy looked for a receipe, and after watching an explanatory video, we decided to try. After stiring for 2:14 hours, a little bit Naty, a little bit Andy, we made "dulce de leche". Now we show you the process, and we don´t share anything!!

Apenas empezó a hervir.

Lo dejamos enfriar en la pileta con agua fría.
We let it cool with cold water.

Lo pusimos en frascos y a la heladera.
We put it in jars, and to the fridge.

El secreto: hay que ponerle bolitas a la olla cuando empieza a hervir. Eso hace que no se pegue el dulce de leche a la olla, ni se queme. ¡Funciona!
The secret: we have to put some marbles into the pan when the mixture starts boiling. That makes the "dulce de leche" doesn´t stick to the pan, not gets burnt. It works!

Helado - Ice-cream

La semana pasada, Aaron, Mary, Katelyn, y Rachel (otros profes y amigos), nos contaron que descubrieron una nueva heladería. Ahí nomás decidimos que teníamos que probarla. Last week, Aaron, Mary, Katelyn, and Rachel (other teachers and friends) told us they had discovered a new ice-cream shop. Right there we decided we had to try it. We went, ice-cream was great, and the people from the shop made us see a special building. We had a great time. Here you ahve the pictures...

Viaje a Laos - Trip to Laos

Hace unas semanas tuvimos que viajar a Laos de emergencia por nuestras visas. A media tarde nos avisaron, y a la mañana siguiente estábamos de viaje; pero a pesar del apurete pasamos 6 lindos días. Les dejamos algunas fotos...

A few weeks ago we had to travel to Laos out of the blue because of our visas. They told as mid morning and by the next morning we were travelling. But even though it was very sudden, we enjoyed 6 beautiful days. Here you have some pictures...
