Lands of Smiles: Las tierras de las Sonrisas: El Nombre

Leyendo blogs y artículos sobre Tailandia descubrimos que la llaman La tierra de las sonrisas. Decidimos ponerle ese mismo nombre al blog por varias razones que vamos a tratar de sintetizar:

Primero que aquí la gente es realmente sonriente, el saludo es respetuoso y con una sonrisa. Además, a pesar del calor se vive bien, tranquilo, sin el ritmo enloquecedor de occidente.

Otro motivo por el que pusimos el nombre al blog es que ir al otro lado del mundo nos hizo cruzar y conocer lugares realmente preciosos e interesantes de los cuales hablaremos.

También teníamos las ganas de ser misioneros por algunos motivos básicos como: servir a Dios donde se necesita y también aprender mucho de otras culturas para poder juntar ideas, elementos, experiencias para compartir el mensaje en nuestro lugar, donde también se necesita ser misioneros.

Y por último, es la tierra de la sonrisa pero aquí se necesita de muchas sonrisas y la esperanza que conocemos y abrazamos. Hay desafíos enormes en este lugar con la gente que no conoce de Cristo; para muchos de ellos eso es un cuento, entonces no se puede uno acercar con el espíritu de profecía, la biblia o algún otro recurso de los que usamos en occidente, es por eso que generalmente el mejor recurso es y será “LA SONRISA”.

Upon reading blogs and articles abour Thailand we discovered that they call it “Land of smiles”. We decided to use that same name for our blog because of some reasons we’d like to share: First, because people here are really smiley. Besides de heat people live in good conditions, peacefully, without the quick rhythm so common on occident.

Another reason is because travelling to the other end of the world pushed up to get to know other places in the way, really beautiful and interesting places we will share with you.

We wanted to be missionaries for some basic reasons like serving God where it’s most needed, and learning from other cultures to be able to gather ideas and experiences to share when we go back home, where missionaries are also needed.

Lastly, although this is the land of smiles, smiles are really needed, along with the hope we know and treasure. There are huge challenges in this place where people do not know God. God is a fable to a lot of them. We cannot talk about the spirit of prophecy, the Bible or use some resources we would use in occident… the best resource here is and will always be “the smile”.
